CONCEPT STUDY—MOTION SKETCH

A mindful study in bringing portraits to life. Modeled after first sketches on paper with pencil, each motion sketch takes on a monochrome black, white and gray palette. Grateful to have made these at sunset and blue hour with Bogi, Glendy and Tabata: three wonderful people who were just as open to experiment and turn this into something that is equal parts charming and evocative.

Create a series of concept films that emphasize the humanity of the model without distracting from the focus on the product.

Each sketch was completely unscripted to give room for Glendy’s personality to come to the surface. These sketches were primarily captured during golden hour to create a sense of calm and introspection.
In line with modern trends, each film was captured on DSLR and treated in post to adopt a Super-8 camera-like feel to convey unforced authenticity.

Overall three sketches were created, along with a few complimenting stills, for Instagram; the first of which are featured below.
These sketches serve as a template for fashion houses and films looking to feature products while making their brand approachable and can easily fit a modern social media format.
